Burberry Edit

Celebrating timeless, versatile, and quintessentially British Burberry throughout the decades.

Showcased in an edit curated by founder Ruth Vout in homage to her history with the iconic brand, the Burberry name has played a huge role in the VOUT journey - from early pop-ups to the collections curated today.

We start this journey with the first Burberry piece Ruthie ever sold - a 1980’s classic trench coat - initially bought by her Uncle John for his first business trip to New York. Wanting to feel powerful, impactful and elegant, he chose a coat that embodied this, selecting a luxury item that would later be donated to his niece in her first ever fashion pop-up. From there, Burberry remained a constant source of inspiration to Ruth, and the history and quality of the brand has fascinated her since.

From the trench’s role in the war, with its historic introduction of lightweight, waterproof gabardine fabrics, to the unmistakable Nova Check print spotted across the silver screen, the iconography of Burberry is hard to miss.

Proudly sporting vintage labels illustrating the 1990s shift from Burberrys to Burberry, with that powerful Made in England insignia, this curated edit is designed to reflect the classic, timeless pieces Burberry creates, and our connection to them here at VOUT.
